It’s been way too long since I’ve posted any new photos here, so I’m excited to have these super cute photos of Fuller to show off. I know it may have seemed like I fell off the face of the planet for a little while there, but here’s the proof that I’m still alive and kicking and back to work. I was a little worried there for a second that it would be a while before I would be able to pick my camera up again (or anything else, for that matter). A few weeks ago my fiance and I (hey, I got engaged!) went snowboarding and I guess I was having a little too much fun and should have quit while I was ahead and still in tact. I was actually doing a pretty good job of not falling for most of the day, but I just had to catch that last lift up and I managed to fall on my right wrist so hard that I couldn’t pick up a cup without yelping like a crazy person for the next two weeks. But I’m happy to say that my arm has returned to its natural color (bye bye black and blue) and the yelping phase is completely over. Yay!

It was great to be taking photos again and I couldn’t have had a better subject to start with. Look at those baby cheeks! Don’t you just want to pinch them like your crazy Aunt Betty used to pinch yours? I’m so glad Fuller’s mom decided to go ahead and bring him into the studio. We had scheduled his photo session for next month, but she didn’t want to miss capturing his “babyness” in it’s full glory. Good thinking on her part! They change amazingly fast in that first year, so the sooner the better.

The destruction from the earthquake in Haiti is unimaginable. Last night as I was sitting in my warm comfortable house, I couldn’t stop thinking about how fortunate I am to know that the people I love are safe and healthy. I can’t even fathom what it would be like to not have anyone to turn to with an injured child or mother after my world had crumbled around me. The people of Haiti desperately need our support and assistance.

Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of photo shoots where we split the time between the kids hanging out in their own house where they’re nice and comfortable and then going to a nearby park or beach. I love the “day in the life” feel to the photos where the kids are in their own houses and it often seems like they’re more confident on their own turf. And when they get bored of that idea, out the door we go to run around and explore. The perfect combination!

Emma was so cute showing me her room and how high she could jump on her bed. And I absolutely love her outfit. If you’re looking for ideas of how to dress your little girl for a photo shoot, Emma is the perfect example. The layers and bright colors are great for fun vibrant photos. And that girl knows how to turn on a smile for the camera!

Little Mr. Braxton is a man in the fast lane. Appartenly he decided to go from crawling to running without much attention to the whole walking phase. He’s a great reason to mix photos in the house with some outside. Inside he was free to hang out without anyone chasing after him to keep him from falling head first on the concrete, and the outside photos of him checking the out the world are great too.
